poster...

... this is my poster which i created for my chosen band name. which was inspired to me by the work of ellie goulding. i really like the way it is very cartoonie with no actual real imaging. the reason on why i chose to do a poster with the lights tonal colors is because they look so vintage and old fashioned which is the type of imagery that i adore and love. i also love the style of the writing because it really fits into the whole poster and fits into the colors really well and this is my final piece. 

CD templates ...

... to help me with the layout of the CD cover i have got to research into different CD sleeves and covers so when it comes to designing my cover i have the base already for it and know how much space i have got. what i was thinking of doing is a CD card sleeve, with is very simple and very effective and also eco - friendly because it was made from card which is easily recycle-able. here are a few templates that i like... here is a website link that i found with different types of CD cover styles... http://www.discworks.biz/templates.html.

introduction to task...

... for this assignment we have been asked to design our own CD cover, to do this i have researched different types of CD covers and also different types of posters that relate into the type of music that i like. 

CD cover research...

... here are some CD covers that i researched into that i love so when coming up to making my own one i will have plenty of ideas... and here they are... the reasons on why i have chosen these specific CD covers is because i love how there all there own and they are all different which gives me plenty of ideas. the reason on why there are so many albums made by Ellie Goulding is because i love the way there are light speckles which have been edited in which make the image look very vintage and something which she can claim as her own. with the Rihanna - what's my name album i love the colors which have been used because there is a bright wash of deep pink which really goes well with the hair and the image is very retro at the same time with i love.

... the reason on why i have chosen these images to look at for ideas because i really like the way they have been composed and the colors that have been used in them which are quite natural and also very pasterly. even though the one with the light bulb isn't an actual photograph i love the way it has been edited to make it more posterized which gives it a great inviting feeling to make you read on or look into the artist a little bit more. for my poster/flyer i am going to try and make it look very retro and vintage because that's what reflects me the best.

this is the official website that i looked at to get some ideas towards the group and to see what kind of things this band does to show there indentity and to show what there about. on this website i looked at all there different music videos that they have created to go with there songs and also in there online gallery to see what gigs and band shoots they have done in the past and also on what they plan to do in the future. 

studio photoshoot ...

... these are the images that i took of patch in my group so i could get used to taking images of other people and get used to using the equipment in the studio. 





This is one of my favourite images because the lighting is just perfect and i love the pose that is being made. all in all i think it is a great image. to create the background we used two waffle lights to shine on to the white background to make it vibrate white, without them the background would be gray. the props used in this portrait was the roses and they weren't intinal, we just did it for a laugh and then the images turned out pretty well. i never asked for this certain pose to be pulled, it just happened and my model patch knew what to do to create a great look. i really do like this pose, the reason being is it's a street like look and then the roses just makes him look dead sweet.
